Cherokee Art Market selects ‘Ingalik Charm Basket (Traditional)’ as Best of Show
$75,000 in prize money awarded to numerous artists
TULSA, Okla. – This year’s 11th annual Cherokee Art Market honored Glenda McKay with Best of Show for “Ingalik Charm Basket” at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa.
The awards reception held Friday honored the Cherokee Art Market winners with $75,000 overall prize money awarded across 25 categories.
The event featured inspirational art from more than 150 elite Native American artists from 50 tribes. Art forms include beadwork, pottery, painting, basketry, sculptures and textiles. Guests also enjoyed a variety of cultural demonstrations and performances during the market.
With nearly 60 winners in eight classes, the following highlights the Cherokee Art Market 2016 Best of Class winners:

Additionally, Joshua Adams earned the Culture Keeper Award for “False Faced God,” Peter Nez Nelson earned the Innovator Award for “Concho Belt,” and Bill Glass Jr. earned the Anna Mitchell Award for “Above and Below.”
